Built for the business behind the beauty.
GlamlyHQ began when my husband asked what “bridal stuff” actually meant—and saw how much of my life it was taking.
For years I spent nights and days away from my family trying to complete the administrative work behind my bridal business. The inquiries were there. The team was there. The talent was there. What I did not have was more time. I was also an educator, a business owner and a salon owner, and bridal was the part of the business with enormous potential that took the most time to grow.
One night I sat beside my husband, Derrick, and told him I needed to work on bridal stuff. He asked what that actually meant. I showed him the inquiries, quotes, client communication, party details, artist scheduling, minute-by-minute wedding-day timelines and constant changes that had lived in my head for years.
After listening, Derrick said, “I think I can build something for you.”
Derrick took my life’s work and helped put it into software. I brought the bridal experience. He brought the ability to build. Together, we built GlamlyHQ.
“GlamlyHQ was built from my life’s work, by the person who watched that work take me away from my life.”
A year of nights, after a full day’s work.
Derrick has spent the last year building GlamlyHQ at night, while holding a full electrical engineering job. I do not know how he has done it. I only know that he did it, night after night, for me.
As a service provider, a hairdresser, an owner — we need this. We love building for our clients. But it cannot keep coming at the expense of our lives and our families.
He is incredibly talented and incredibly smart, and I am thankful and grateful for him.
